Ward was the first child born to MonroeLouisianaon 15 April, 1976. Ward was a student at Monroe Christian School, a Christian private elementary school. Ward went to Ouachita Parish High School to complete her secondary schooling. She then moved to River Oaks High School the summer after her senior year. She was also a student at Northeast Louisiana University briefly after her graduation. Ward, then 13, began modeling after she left school. She moved in New York to pursue this profession. After a few years, she decided to try her hand at acting. Initially, in 1970s she played an uncredited character in All My Children. A couple of years later, she was cast for the NBC primetime teen drama Malibu Shores. She landed the role of Meg Cummings, a virgin in Sunset Beach in 1996.
